Let me wake to the gentle nudge of the sun
the warm breeze teasing my skin
let birdsong be my lullaby
and the rising stars each night put me to sleep.
Let my days be spent gazing the azure sky
where wheeling Robins do a happy dance
let butterflies tickle me into fits of joy
as the sea’s soft song shall set my soul free.
When the crimson sun dips with a sigh
let me watch awe struck –
the blues from gold to violet turn,
let the darkening skies blow me a kiss
and the moon spill upon me
her pearly urn.
